Read The Zombie Hunters from the New Yorker. It’s a great little article about the criminal industry that has developed around directing vast armies of bot-infected pcs to launch distributed denial of service attacks against dot com companies in order to extort protection money, and about a couple of the people who make their livelihoods battling them.
